With the USAFE having already extended the service of its Boeing F-15C Eagle fighters in Europe, the arrival of the first Lockheed Martin F-35A Lightning IIs for the re-formed 495th Fighter Squadron at RAF Lakenheath within the 48th Fighter Wing has allowed the service to retire its ageing F-15Cs
