Tax bite of $49m takes Wellington Airport into the red

But the two shareholders still received payouts.

Wellington Airport' sinternational passengers rose 31% in 2023-24 financial year.

The removal of tax depreciation on commercial buildings cost Wellington Airport dearly, with a net loss for the March 31 year of $28.8 million. This compared with last year’s net profit of $25.2m.

Total revenue from 5.5m passengers, an increase of 195,000, and other income rose 8.7% to $160m.
