In the NZ Aviation News article, RNZAF proud of its heritage, readers would have noticed a name – Flying Officer Sydney Clayton. Born in Darlington, England on November 24, 1913, Sydney Ernest Clayton is the paternal great uncle of serving RNZAF Wing Commander Brett Clayton.
