Multimillion-dollar tobacco tax evader sentenced

Fourth man was sentenced to jail for his role in an organised tobacco smuggling operation.

A 38-year-old man was sentenced today in Auckland District Court today for defrauding Customs revenue and money laundering. 

Hoong Ping Lee was sentenced to two years and four months imprisonment for his crimes, after being linked to two shipments containing 4.2 million cigarettes.
