First criminal cartel case ends in community detention

A contractor who engaged in bid rigging receives a non-custodial sentence, while his company is fined $500,000.

An Auckland contractor who pleaded guilty to four charges of cartel conduct was sentenced at the High Court this morning to six months of community detention and 200 hours community service.
