ComCom lays first criminal cartel prosecution

Two construction companies and two directors accused of bid rigging of publicly funded construction contracts.

It is alleged that companies and directors colluded to rig bids for infrastructure projects in Auckland.

The Commerce Commission has filed the country’s first-ever criminal prosecution for alleged cartel conduct, alleging two construction companies and two directors rigged bids for publicly funded construction contracts.

The criminal proceedings have been filed in the Auckland District Court
