Shareholders’ Association gives NZME special dividend a tick

But retail shareholders were disadvantaged by share buyback, it says.

The New Zealand Shareholders’ Association is favourably disposed to listed media company NZME’s intention to pay out a special dividend, saying it was fairer to retail investors than a share buyback.

NZME said this morning it would be offloading capital in July by way of a special dividend of 5c
