More pain for SkyCity Adelaide as it loses appeal on casino duty

The company has made provision for losing the appeal, but not for potential interest charges.

SkyCity has written down the value of its Adelaide Casino by A$45.6m.

SkyCity Entertainment will pay an additional A$10.8m ($11.9m) in casino duty after losing an appeal to the High Court of Australia over the treatment of loyalty points at its Adelaide casino. It also faces a further judgment, which could see it pay up to A$25.3m in interest.
