Telematics company Eroad has announced its caretaker chief executive, Mark Heine, will hold the job permanently.

Heine, formerly the ASX and NZX-listed company's general counsel and secretary, was thrust into the CEO role when long-time boss Steven Newman suddenly resigned in early April.
