KiwiRail, in the midst of redundancies, says its ferries are in ‘good shape’ ahead of the busy season, with Kaitaki having just received more than ‘50,000 hours’ of maintenance at Singapore drydock.

Fixing a glitch on its Interislander booking system has gone into the too-hard basket, as owner KiwiRail faces up to staff redundancies and gears its Cook Strait service for upwards of 350,000 passengers during the country's October to February peak period.
