Three recent studies have considered effective tax rates in New Zealand:

  • the Sapere report on effective tax rates for the entire population;
  • the Treasury report. Similar to the Sapere report but uses a different methodology; and
  • the Inland Revenue report on effective tax rates on 311 high-income
