The Trans-Tasman Business Circle and business growth and start-up incubator The Icehouse have formed a partnership designed to give entrepreneurs better access to large organisations.
The initiative, called the Innovation Circle, is a "dedicated platform for the sharing of ideas, knowledge transfer and unleashing potential," the two organisations say.
"It is so hard for the entrepreneurial heroes of our economy to find opportunities to engage with large organisations, with government and key business leaders," they say.
"At the same time, these large organisations have increasingly become aware of the fantastic talent, ideas and business opportunities that exist in the entrepreneur economy and wish to embrace them more openly and freely."
"From my own experience, the Circle briefings, events and connections provide a fantastic opportunity for our innovators to build relationships, trust and ultimately access to support and enable their growth," Icehouse chief executive Andy Hamilton says.
Last week, the government announced three accelerator programmes to be funded for a year, including the Auckland-based Icehouse digital technology accelerator which will offer up to $100,000 of seed investment along with six months of mentoring, global connections and further funding.
