Economists are shifting the goal posts after weaker-than-expected inflation data signals earlier interest rate cuts.
Stats NZ data out yesterday showed inflation fell to 3.3% in the year ended June, below the RBNZ’s May forecast, and compared with 4% in the year ended March.
