Employment confidence inches up amid tight labour market

The Westpac McDermott Miller Employment Confidence Index indicated employment opportunities remained positive for now, with signs the labour market may have passed its peak.

Employment confidence has sparkled amid a tight labour market and wage growth.

The Westpac McDermott Miller Employment Confidence Index climbed by 1.5 points to 109.5 in the March quarter.

The index remained below a recent peak of 115.2 recorded in the September quarter.
