Inflation expectations soar as consumers monitor trade turmoil

New Zealand consumers expect inflation to rise further as they monitor the global trade tariff turmoil.

The ANZ-Roy Morgan Consumer Confidence Index rose five points to 98.3 in April. Closely watched inflation expectations soared to 4.7%, the highest since July 2023.
