Wellington Chamber of Commerce welcomes new council CEO
Barbara McKerrow moves to CEO from CFO.
Wellington City Council has appointed its chief operating officer chief executive for the next five years.
Barbara McKerrow replaces Kevin Lavery.
McKerrow has been CFO for two and a half years and was previously chief executive of New Plymouth District Council for nine years.
The Wellington Chamber of Commerce said Mayor Andy Foster has set out a six-year much-needed programme for transport, urban development, economic, social, cultural, and environment, "and will need all the support he can get from Barbara and her team to achieve that."
The chamber congratulated McKerrow and said it looked forward to working with her "as we all work to take the city and the region forward.”
