Warren and Mahoney announce new chair

Board member Andrew Tu’inukuafe appointed.

Tue, 08 Mar 2022

Architecture and interior design firm Warren and Mahoney has appointed Andrew Tu’inukuafe as its new chair, replacing Graeme Finlay.

Tu’inukuafe has been a member of the board since 2021 and has been a principal based in the Auckland studio since 2015. Most recently, he has held the role of Auckland studio principal where he was responsible for defining and delivering on strategy.

Managing director John Coop said, “Tu’inukuafe brings a wealth of talent, insight and expertise.”

Tu’inukuafe said taking on the position is a huge honour for him and reflective of the increasing diversity in the firm and the sector. “As a passionate architect, New Zealander and Tongan, becoming the chair of Warren and Mahoney is a huge privilege.”

Rotating the position of chair is part of the Warren and Mahoney strategy and Finlay said his tenure as chair was a career highlight and he now looks forward to contributing in different ways.

“Handing over to Andrew, the firm couldn’t be in safer hands, and I look forward to the next step in the evolution of the business. While I will remain on the board, I am also excited to have more time to contribute in different ways,” he said.

Tu’inukafe will start his new role April 1  2022.
