Trustees Executors, the country's oldest trustee company, has appointed Laurence Kubiak as the new independent chair of its board.

He replaces interim chair Graeme Kirkpatrick who will continue as a non-executive director on the board.

Kubiak joined the TE board as an independent director in November last year. He is CEO of the New Zealand Institute of Economic Research and has a management background in various sectors including telcos, energy and technology.

TE CEO Ryan Bessemer said Kubiak had developed a deep knowledge of the business and he looked forward to his "on-going contribution" as chair.
