Fri, 03 Apr 2020

Global factory solutions specialist Facteon has bolstered its executive team with the appointment of a new head of finance – former deputy managing director of Hella New Zealand, Tony Horton.

Joining Facteon this week, Tony brings more than three decades of manufacturing industry experience. In addition to his role at Hella, he has also held leadership roles at both Healthscope NZ and Dynamic Communications.

“I have always found the elegant use of technology and systems in all areas of a business energising and interesting, so this opportunity appealed as much to my skillset as it did to my personal interests. [It] was just the new challenge I was looking for,” Horton explained.

He added that New Zealand has the fantastic ability to provide technological solutions that can be applied all over the world.

“Some might say we’re too small to compete with the bigger markets, but sometimes you just need to approach things differently. New Zealand and Facteon are both forward-thinking and innovative places to be.”

General manager - Facteon Group, John Cochrane, said, “Tony’s wealth of expertise and genuine passion for our industry mean he’s the perfect fit for this role.

“Facteon has a strong mechanical design and automation legacy, which is further enhanced by our digital intelligence offering. We’re increasingly using Industrial Internet of Things and Industry 4.0 technologies for our clients.”

Facteon partners with companies such as Fisher & Paykel, Haier and GE Appliances to design, implement and maintain their production plants and machinery.
