Former chief information security officer (CISO) and VP of professional services at Mobile Mentor, Liz Knight has been appointed head of cybersecurity at Theta,
Theta CEO Rob Lee said Knight would bring a wealth of experience and industry credibility to the role.
“Liz has a strong background, including a broad scope of experience across industries, including technology, health, and telecommunications. After six years at Mobile Mentor, it’s great news that our cybersecurity practice can continue to provide top-tier support for our growing customer base in ANZ.”
Working in cybersecurity is a challenging and ever-evolving field. As technology continues to advance, so do the methods and tactics used by cybercriminals to steal sensitive information or disrupt operations. In her role, Knight follows a practical, people-centric approach to security, encouraging others to take on new best practices.
“People are the weakest link regarding security, but they can also be our strongest defence. The more we talk about our experiences of being phished and compromised, and the more we learn from these shared experiences, the more resilient and intelligent we can be when dealing with the ever-changing threat landscape.”
After a number of years in New York working for renowned DaaS solutions provider Citrix, Knight moved back to New Zealand to take on the role of head of professional services and CISO for Mobile Mentor.
As head of cybersecurity, Knight will support companies to protect against sophisticated threats with services that include managed threat detection and response, bespoke security consultancy services, adversary simulations, environment reviews aligning to NIST and Essential 8, and more.
“Theta is an impressive company, and it’s been interesting learning the breadth of different solutions and services we offer. I look forward to continuing to support customers with safe and secure systems.”
