Independent construction project management company The Building Intelligence Group has appointed Honorary Dame Suzanne Snively ONZM DNZM as its new independent chair.

Founder and director Dave Mann commented: “We’re excited that Suzanne has joined our board. Her expertise and leadership are exactly what we need as we tackle new challenges in the construction industry to maximise value for our clients. Her appointment is pivotal in our journey towards sustainable growth and market leadership.”

Snively brings more than 30 years of extensive experience in governance, economics, and consulting, having held various senior leadership positions across multiple sectors including public policy, finance, and social justice. Her proven track record in steering organisations through growth phases, implementing robust governance frameworks, and fostering innovation aligns perfectly with TBIG’s goals, the company said.

In her role, Snively will oversee TBIG’s board activities, providing strategic guidance and ensuring robust corporate governance. This appointment is part of TBIG’s broader strategy to strengthen its leadership and enhance its capacity to deliver large-scale, complex projects with precision and efficiency.

Snively’s career has been marked by significant roles including from her first governance role as a director of the Reserve Bank of New Zealand, her time as chief economist at Jarden, and as a partner at PwC, where she gained invaluable insights into equity markets and corporate finance. Her experience working with government agencies, providing strategic advice including on capital investment decisions and her involvement in modelling New Zealand’s housing market provide her with a unique perspective highly relevant to TBIG’s operations.

Snively expressed her enthusiasm about joining TBIG, stating: “I am honoured to take on the role of independent chair … I look forward to contributing to its continued success and helping shape its future.”

This leadership change includes Mann stepping back as chair but remaining on the board with fellow shareholders and directors, Ian Macaskill and Brent Thomson.
