Skills Consulting Group has announced the appointment of Nicky Jones to the role of general manager of strategy and people.
Jones has worked across both public and private sectors, in various industries and government agencies. Her key focus has been not just on providing a great place to work for individuals in the workplace but taking it further and focusing on making real change for people throughout New Zealand.
Jones has come to the group from a consulting role with MartinJenkins, working with organisations to achieve their strategic direction by aligning their business model and people practices.
“The world around us is changing, and organisations need to make sure their workforce and workplace is changing with it,” she said.
The portfolio that Jones steps into is reflective of where she sees the future of HR heading: into operating strategically and not just transactionally, as it has done in the past.
“Joining Skills Consulting Group in this role was a great opportunity to be in an organisation that linked to my values – equipping people to be successful in the future – as well as the opportunity to really focus on both the commercial side of the business as well as the people,” she said.
Jones and her team will lead the group's social impact plan.
“We have this unique opportunity to take our core ambition of 'Happy, Healthy, Productive Workplaces' beyond our customers and into our communities”.
