Paul Norling has formally advised the Sanford board he will retire as chair and director of the company following the company’s annual shareholders’ meeting on December 13, 2019.
The board has elected deputy chair Sir Rob McLeod to succeed him.
Norling said it had been a privilege to chair Sanford, a company with a long and distinguished heritage in the New Zealand fishing industry, with the business having its traceable beginnings back as far as 1864.
Sir Rob said he felt privileged to be asked to lead the board, saying “the company has an exciting future which the board and management are committed to realise.”
He also acknowledged the significant contribution that Norling had made to Sanford as a director and chair.
