Scentre Group appoints board member

Catherine Brenner’s appointment to the board is effective March 1, 2022.

Scentre Group have announced the appointment of Catherine Brenner to the board, effective March 1, 2022.  

Scentre Group chair Brian Schwartz said: “We look forward to welcoming Catherine to the board. ... [She] has an accomplished non-executive and executive career and her broad experience will further strengthen the board and complement the skills and expertise of current board members”. 

Brenner will be an independent non-executive director and will stand for election at the group’s AGM in April 2022.  

Brenner has extensive financial services and business experience and has held executive and non-executive roles across many sectors. She is currently chair of Australian Payments Plus (BPAY, eftpos, NPP, Beem) and a non-executive director of the carbon ratings business, Emmi, The George Institute for Global Health and Schools Plus. 

Previously non-executive chair of AMP Ltd and a non-executive director of Boral Ltd and Coca-Cola Amatil Ltd, she was also a trustee of the Sydney Opera House Trust and the Art Gallery of NSW and a member of the Takeovers Panel. Brenner was a senior investment banker at ABN AMRO and BZW.  

Brenner is a Fellow of the Institute of Company Directors, a member of Chief Executive Women and a Panel member of Adara Partners.
