Scott Pritchard will join the board from November.
NZX-listed Ryman Healthcare has announced the appointment of Scott Pritchard as an independent director of the company, from November 1.
Pritchard is the CEO at NZX-listed Precinct Properties, a position he has held for 14 years. Prior to this, he held senior management roles at Goodman Group, which at the time was the external management company for the NZX-listed Goodman Property Trust.
Pritchard is due to retire as chair of the Property Council of New Zealand on 31 October having served 14 years on the board and was recently a member of Health NZ’s Capital and Infrastructure Committee. He recently stepped down from the Health NZ role, which he was appointed to in 2022, to take up the directorship at Ryman.
Executive chairman Dean Hamilton said he was delighted to have Pritchard join the board.
“Scott brings a great range of relevant experiences to the table; as a successful CEO of a large publicly-listed company, proven people and cultural leadership and, importantly, strong commercial experience across large-scale property development and property management.”
Successfully building new Ryman villages will be a key part of future financial performance, he said.
"As we transition to a stronger developer mindset and look to outsource significant elements of our design and construction, Scott’s proven experience in these areas at both Precinct and Goodman will be invaluable as the board supports management through this process.”
As previously advised, current director Claire Higgins will retire on December 31.
“I’d like to again thank Claire for her contribution over 10 years, and in particular for stepping up into the role of interim chair in late 2022 through to the AGM in 2023," Hamilton said.
Ryman Healthcare was founded in Christchurch in 1984 and owns and operates 49 retirement villages in New Zealand and Australia. Ryman villages are home to 14,600 residents, and the company employs 7700 staff.
