Rhodes & Co has appointed Anna Whalan-Bell and Sam Devlin as equity partners. Both began their careers as law clerks at Rhodes & Co in 2011.
Whalan-Bell provides advice on a breadth of contentious and non-contentious commercial issues. She regularly assists clients with a variety of corporate and private matters including in relation to trusts and estates, property, relationship property, capital raising, and corporate structure.
She additionally has experience in her dispute resolution practice as counsel in High Court, Court of Appeal, and Supreme Court proceedings. Prior to returning to the firm in 2020, Anna undertook her Master of Laws degree on scholarship at the University of Cambridge and subsequently went on to practise dispute resolution at Herbert Smith Freehills in Melbourne.
Devlin is an experienced property and commercial lawyer with particular expertise advising on property development and construction projects, including commercial leasing and complex procurement.
Prior to re-joining Rhodes & Co in 2022, He was senior legal counsel at NZX-listed Auckland Airport and spent a number of years in the real estate and construction team of a leading New Zealand law firm.
