Partners Life appoints CFO

  • Partners Life has appointed Mark Schollum as the company’s new chief financial officer. He will join the company in March 2025.

    Schollum has more than 20 years of experience in the life insurance industry, both in New Zealand and internationally. This includes six years as CFO, with two years at Chubb Life and four years at Cigna before its acquisition by Chubb. Prior to this, he held senior executive finance roles at Cigna.

    Partners Life said he has a strong focus on good customer outcomes in the life and health insurance industry. Among his achievements, Schollum has been responsible for helping drive sustainable organic growth and overseeing mergers and acquisitions.

    Schollum said: “I’ve admired Partners Life as a competitor for many years. I’m thrilled to join such a customer-focused and innovative team. The life and health insurance industry in New Zealand is evolving fast and I look forward to making my contribution to Partners Life’s purpose – building a brighter and more secure future for all New Zealanders.”

    Schollum is a Chartered Accountant and a member of the New Zealand Institute of Directors. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce with honours from the University of Otago.

    Partners Life CEO Michael Weston said: “Mark’s significant financial expertise and proven leadership abilities will make him an invaluable member of our team. I’m looking forward to working with him to achieve Partners Life’s strategic goals.”
