Bank of China (New Zealand) Ltd has announced the appointment of Gao Yi as a new director.
Chair Tim Bennett welcomed Gao’s joining the board, saying: “We look forward to Ms Gao continuing the tradition of high-calibre directors bridging a wealth of experience from the Bank of China globally to New Zealand. I am confident Ms Gao Yi will continue Ms Chen’s legacy in this regard.”
Gao Yi brings to the role more than 30 years of invaluable experience with the Bank of China, primarily in overseas business management, subsidiary management, and establishing a successful overseas branch in leading markets. Her expertise notably extends to risk management and corporate governance, areas in which she has demonstrated exceptional leadership and strategic foresight.
Gao Yi succeeds Chen Yuanbo, who is retiring after nearly three years as a director. The bank extended its heartfelt thanks to Ms. Chen for her contributions and service during her tenure and wishes her all the best for the future.
