Michael Jamieson has been appointed commercial manager for the Centre for Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR Centre).

Jamieson brings 30 years of legal practice in property and commercial law, including 20 years gained in-house, most recently as general counsel and company secretary for broadcast, telecommunication, and cybersecurity company Kordia Group.

He will be responsible for the Building Disputes Tribunal, the New Zealand International Arbitration Centre, and the New Zealand Dispute Resolution Centre, including the new grocery industry dispute resolution scheme and, from October 1, the .nz domain name dispute resolution scheme.

ADR Centre director Catherine Green said Jamieson’s extensive experience will play a key role in the growth of the centre.

“As the leading provider of private dispute resolution services in New Zealand, the ADR Centre aims to maintain that privileged position and to continue to set the standard of excellence for private domestic and international dispute resolution in New Zealand. As the business continues to expand, Michael’s appointment will be instrumental in enabling and safeguarding our strategic growth.”

The ADR Centre, based in Takapuna, is an independent, nationwide provider of commercial dispute resolution and conflict management services. It is New Zealand’s only purpose-built dispute resolution facility.
