New chief executive at VINZ

The directors of VINZ (Vehicle Inspection NZ) have appointed Sean Stevens chief executive at VINZ

Stevens will focus on building the business in key areas of in-service inspection testing, entry certification and innovative solutions for customers. He is also charged with seeking strategic partnerships and opportunities to expand VINZ while ensuring the company provides industry-leading service to its customers.

He has been acting in the CEO role since August last year. Stevens joined VINZ in August 2015 and was formerly general manager operations and delivery. He has an extensive automotive industry background, having held roles with Ateco and Continental Car Services before joining VINZ, initially as national manager – delivery.

Vehicle Inspection New Zealand (VINZ) was established in. Since 2013 it has been a wholly-owned subsidiary of JEVIC NZ. From March 2015 JEVIC NZ has been ultimately owned by Optimus Group, a Japanese company listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange.

VINZ is a specialist vehicle inspection services provider of certificates of fitness, warrants of fitness, entry certification and pre-purchase vehicle appraisal for private vehicle owners and fleet operations. VINZ is part of the inspection segment of the Optimus Group.

VINZ employs 200 staff and has testing stations and used vehicle entry compliance inspection staff and facilities in Auckland, Hamilton, Tauranga, Palmerston North, Lower Hutt, Nelson, Christchurch, Timaru, Dunedin and Gore.
