Mark Longbottom has been appointed sustainable investments specialist for Mercer New Zealand.
In response to growing market demand for sustainable investing expertise, Mercer has created a new role and appointed Longbottom, a not-for-profit sector veteran.
Longbottom was previously the head of corporate social responsibility at Southern Cross and brings more than 20 years of experience working with organisations across New Zealand and the United Kingdom.
Mercer New Zealand chief executive Martin Lewington said Longbottom’s extensive knowledge of the market would complement the deep expertise of Mercer’s global and regional sustainable investment consulting team.
Longbottom said he was excited to join Mercer and expects the demand for sustainable investing expertise in New Zealand to continue to rise.
“Investors are under more pressure and scrutiny to play their part in addressing the global systemic issues that are playing out at the expense of the environment and communities far and wide,” he said.
