Melanoma New Zealand appoints new chief executive

Former editor of the The National Business Review Magazine appointed as Melanoma NZ CEO.

Melanoma New Zealand has announced the appointment of Andrea Newland as its new chief executive.  Ms Newland will take up the role from January 30, 2019. 

Ms Newland will continue to build on Melanoma New Zealand’s mission of preventing avoidable deaths and suffering from melanoma. 

Ms Newland joins Melanoma New Zealand after more than nine years at national children’s hospital charity the Starship Foundation, where she headed up the marketing, communications, events and corporate partnerships functions.  Other roles have included editor of The National Business Review Magazine, associate editor of Management Magazine and public relations manager for law firm Simpson Grierson.  She is a trustee on the St Cuthbert’s College Educational Trust Board.

Ms Newland is a qualified and experienced journalist and also graduated in 1994 from the University of Auckland with a law degree.
