Transport Minister Phil Twyford has appointed Jo Brosnahan chairwoman of the Maritime New Zealand board. Ms Brosnahan has been appointed for a three-year term.
Ms Brosnahan is chairwoman of Northpower Fibre, a director on the Auckland Museum board and is founder, chairwoman and now advisory trustee of Leadership New Zealand. She was previously chief executive of the Northland Regional Council and of the Auckland Regional Council, with experience in the port and maritime sectors, infrastructure, transport, education and environmental management. She is a chartered fellow of the Institute of Directors and of the Institute of Logistics and Transport. Ms Brosnahan was a Harkness fellow at Duke University in the US, researching leadership.
