Highly-respected New Zealand businessman and professional director Keith Smith has been appointed to the board of SkyTV.
Smith has been appointed to fill a casual vacancy, effective immediately. He will seek election from Sky’s shareholders at the next general meeting.
An experienced company director, Smith is chair of listed company Goodman (NZ), [the manager of Goodman Property Trust]; deputy chair of The Warehouse Group; and is a director of Mercury NZ and several other private companies.
Smith has a long-standing record of leadership as a director and adviser to companies in a diverse range of industries, including the energy sector, retail, rural services, printing, media and exporting.
He is a past president of the Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand.
As required by NZX Listing Rules 2.6.1 and 2.6.2, the board has determined that Keith Smith is an independent director.
