Invest South has appointed Bridget Unsworth as a new director to the board.
Unsworth brings more than a decade’s experience working in venture capital, private equity and angel investment sectors in London and New Zealand.
Unsworth is operations director at the Angel Association of New Zealand and was previously investment director at New Zealand Venture Investment Fund for nine years. She also worked for MVision Private Equity Advisers, where she was based in London, raising capital for private equity in both developed and emerging markets.
Currently based in Auckland, Unsworth is also on the board of TracPlus Global, a real-time asset tracking solutions provider. She graduated from the University of Otago with a Bachelor of Physical Education and Bachelor of Commerce.
Invest South chair Mark O’Connor says Unsworth brings significant experience across key areas including assessing early-stage businesses, knowledge management, organisational development, and governance.
“Bridget is a seasoned commercial leader with a diverse skillset and real passion for what Invest South does, assisting the growth of businesses in the Southern region.
“We’re thrilled to have her on board as we look to the future, particularly at this critical time when our businesses need more support than ever as they navigate a new post-pandemic world.”
