Scott O’Donnell has been appointed as acting CEO of the group.
The HW Richardson Group Board would like to announce that former managing director and current HWR director, Scott O’Donnell, has been appointed as Acting CEO of the Group.
HWR chair Albert Brantley said current CEO Brent Esler had advised the board late last year of his intention to retire after having completed a five-year tenure.
“At the start of the year, the HWR board commenced recruitment of Brent’s successor. However, the economic and market uncertainty produced by the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic has forced the board to pause the CEO search.”
Brantley said recruitment of the right CEO in the current environment of economic and social uncertainty was proving to be very difficult.
“To deal with the delays in the CEO recruitment process, and to provide on-going stability, the board has decided to appoint Scott O’Donnell as acting CEO over the coming six to nine months,” Brantley said.
O’Donnell’s appointment as acting CEO will be effective from June 15, 2020 and he will be based at the HWR head office in Invercargill. He will continue his role as a director on the HWR board.
