Fiona Oliver appointed to First Gas board

Fiona Oliver has specialist knowledge of investments and capital markets, as well as a deep understanding of regulation and regulatory frameworks in commercial and corporate law.

Experienced independent director Fiona Oliver has been appointed to First Gas Group’s  board of directors.

Holding governance roles across a wide range of business sectors, including renewable energy and software for utilities billing systems, Oliver has a position on a number of company boards in New Zealand and Australia.

She is a director of and audit committee chair for Tilt Renewables, Gentrack Group, BNZ Life Insurance and BNZ Insurance Services. Oliver is also a director of Augusta Capital and Augusta Funds Management, and a member of the Inland Revenue’s Risk and Assurance committee.

Oliver’s executive career was in the financial services sector in New Zealand and overseas. In New Zealand, her roles included chief operating officer of Westpac’s investment arm BT Funds Management, and general manager of AMP NZ’s Wealth Management division. In Sydney and London, she managed the Risk and Operations function for AMP’s private capital division.

With specialist knowledge of investments and the capital markets, as well as a deep understanding of regulation and regulatory frameworks in commercial and corporate law, Oliver practised law at a senior level in London, Sydney and Auckland.

Oliver is also a Chartered Fellow of the Institute of Directors and a member of Global Women.

First Gas chair Mark Ratcliffe welcomed Oliver’s expertise to the group’s board of directors.
