Duncan Cotterill has promoted 10 senior lawyers, and 22 junior lawyers within the firm. These promotions underscore the firm’s dedication to investing in its people and recognising their exceptional contributions and expertise.

Promoted to partner:

Tim Adams brings extensive expertise in property and property finance transactions, advising institutional investors, developers, and corporates across a wide range of real estate matters. His strategic insights into complex property finance transactions directly support the company mission to deliver client excellence in key sectors, ensuring clients achieve their objectives efficiently and effectively. 

Kate Mitchell’s dynamic approach to commercial and property law has earned her a reputation for providing pragmatic, timely advice. She is a vital part of Duncan Cotterill’s commitment to supporting government agencies, privately owned businesses, and high-net-worth individuals. Her collaborative spirit and dedication to excellence mirror company core values, helping clients across a range of industries, achieve their goals with confidence. 

Gareth Clendinning is a corporate lawyer with deep expertise in mergers and acquisitions, capital raising, and corporate governance. Michelle Kilham expertly navigates clients through complex civil litigation and insurance law cases, frequently representing them in court and mediations. She defends against professional negligence claims and advises insurers on coverage issues, drawing on her extensive experience in New Zealand and the United Kingdom. 

Promoted to senior associate: 

Ashleigh Bowater provides comprehensive support to clients in the agribusiness sector, handling a wide range of property transactions, including rural and residential deals. She offers valuable insights on succession planning and asset protection, ensuring her clients’ interests are well-protected. 

Nikita Bartlett offers expert guidance on employment law challenges, including personal grievances, bullying, and harassment; restructuring; and redundancies. She represents clients in disciplinary and performance meetings, as well as mediations, leveraging her experience in both Australia and New Zealand.
