Beca Group makes appointment to executive leadership team

Dr Kevin Doherty is the new group director, transport and infrastructure.

Beca Group has appointed Dr Kevin Doherty to its executive leadership team, as group director for transport and infrastructure, effective September 28, 2020.

Doherty joins Beca from Projects Victoria, Australia, where he is the chief executive leading a team dedicated to supporting and improving project delivery outcomes on Victorian government projects. He is a leading public sector infrastructure executive with more than 30 years of experience in major project procurement and delivery and in leading and developing high-performing infrastructure organisations in Australia and New Zealand.

Greg Lowe, Group chief executive, Beca said, “Kevin has an impressive track record in leading transformative infrastructure initiatives, and I know our clients and our team will benefit enormously from his insight and experience.” 

Doherty said, “Beca offers innovative, new thinking on ways to optimise infrastructure to deliver benefits for end users and communities.”

He previously led the Western Sydney Project Office for Roads and Maritime Services in NSW, Australia. Before this, he held senior executive roles in New Zealand as director, public-private partnerships, for Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency, and as chief infrastructure officer for Auckland Transport, heading the infrastructure division responsible for the delivery of Auckland Transport’s capital infrastructure portfolio.

He holds bachelor and doctorate degrees from the University of Adelaide in structural engineering and an MBA from Massey University, New Zealand.
