New Zealand-owned accounting and business advisory network Baker Tilly Staples Rodway has appointed three new directors, adding further strength to its senior leadership team from across the business.

The promotion of Jared Booth, Fiona Welten, and Ian Renner follows the appointment of six new directors earlier in 2020, demonstrating Baker Tilly Staples Rodway’s continued investment in its senior leadership team. National chair, David Searle, said the focus on recognising and developing the firm’s talent was especially important in a time of uncertainty, when many businesses were looking for expert guidance.

“Our three new internally appointed directors are absolute experts in their respective areas, with unflagging enthusiasm for helping clients navigate what can be very challenging circumstances,” Searle said.

Jared Booth has been promoted to director, specialist services in the Auckland firm. He has more than 15 years of local and international experience in business recovery and restructuring, insolvency, and investigations.

Fiona Welten

From Tauranga, Fiona Welten will become director, business advisory services. Welten has been with BTSR for more than two decades, specialising in a range of areas from systems through to strategy and governance, with significant experience on advisory boards. Her strong management focus has also seen her undertake several secondments to clients as interim CFO.

Ian Renner

Ian Renner joins Welten as director, business advisory services in Tauranga. As a chartered accountant with experience spanning nearly 20 years, Renner has worked with clients from a wide range of industries, particularly in the rural sector. He also has considerable experience in tax planning and structuring and liquidations.
