ANZ NZ appoints chief risk officer

Grant Knuckey replaces Bruce Macintyre, who retired at the end of last year.

Grant Knuckey has been appointed chief risk officer for ANZ Bank New Zealand (ANZ NZ). He will also have responsibility for risk in the Pacific.

Knuckey has worked in various international roles for ANZ for more than 20 years.

For the past two years he was CEO Americas, based in New York, and was previously CEO for Japan and Korea based in Tokyo, and CEO for Cambodia, Laos and Myanmar, based in Phnom Penh. He has also worked in various institutional roles in China, Hong Kong, Singapore and Wellington.

He has Bachelor of Commerce and Administration (Economics) and Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degrees from Victoria University of Wellington and an MBA from Trinity College in Ireland.

Knuckey, who starts on February 3 and will be based in Auckland, will be a member of the ANZ NZ’s leadership team and will report to ANZ NZ CEO Antonia Watson.

He replaces Bruce Macintyre, who retired at the end of last year.

His appointment has received a non-objection from the Reserve Bank of New Zealand.
