Andy Wood has been appointed as chief risk officer of Heartland Bank starting next week.
The appointment is one of two announced today by Heartland Group today, as the bank expands its strategic management group.
Prior to this appointment, Wood worked at the Reserve Bank of New Zealand since 2008 in a range of senior leadership roles including head of supervision, where he was responsible for the delivery and modernisation of the banks approach to supervision.
Wood has over 30 years of experience across the banking and finance sector.
At Heartland Wood will fill the role of current chief of risk, Michael Drumm from April 11 as Drumm has been promoted to group chief operating officer.
The Reserve Bank
The Reserve Bank hit the headlines late last year over a raft of senior leadership departures and concerns from politicians and financial consultants.
Reserve Bank announced in December last year that Wood along with head of financial system policy and analysis Toby Fiennes would leave over the upcoming months.
In a press release, the Reserve Bank said two senior team members, “have chosen not to pursue roles in the new structure and will leave over the coming months.”
