Transport costs contribute to inflation spike in September quarter
Excluding petrol, inflation remains well below target.

Inflation spiked higher than expected in the September quarter, driven by rising transport costs, council rates and higher home ownership costs.
The Consumers Price Index jumped 0.9% in the quarter, well above economists' forecasts of 0.6% to 0.8% and also above the Reserve Bank's 0.4% forecast
