The government tab for Covid tests ticks over $47m

Tests in New Zealand are cheaper than in some other parts of the world.

Thanks to an arrangement with the Ministry of Health (MoH), Kiwis are not facing the same pocket-emptying prices for tests as some parts of the world.

Here, tests are free to consumers but the MoH is paying the invoices.
