Terms of trade drop 0.3% in 3rd quarter despite exports at nine-year high
The decline was mainly due to rising petrol and diesel prices, which peaked at the end of the quarter.

The terms of trade declined 0.3% in the September quarter despite overall export prices reaching their highest level in more than nine years.
Terms of trade measure the purchasing power of New Zealand’s exports abroad and is an indicator of the state of the overall economy.
