Steel & Tube has been fined a record almost $1.9 million for misrepresentations about its steel mesh products used in the construction and earthquake-strengthening of buildings.

Judge Warren Cathcart imposed the fine in the Auckland District Court after Steel & Tube pleaded guilty to 24 charges
