The not-for-profit hospital chain is trying to branch into illness prevention.

Southern Cross Hospitals has bought a half share in workplace health service provider MedPro Healthcare.

Southern Cross, the country’s largest network of private surgical hospitals, acquired 50% of Auckland-based MedPro for an undisclosed amount.
