Billionaire Graeme Hart’s packaging empire Reynolds Group has slipped into loss after a tough year of higher costs and a $300 million impairment at one of its subsidiaries.

In a conference call with analysts Reynolds Group managing director Thomas Degnan said the result was “disappointing”
