Property market bolsters record $1.64b quarterly bank profits

The banking sector has made more money than ever thanks to the housing boom.

Banks made record profits in the first quarter of 2021, on the back of the runaway housing market and a decrease in bad debt provisions, as the economy performs better than expected, KPMG says.
