Merchant bank named as defendant in CBL claim

Merchant banking firm Bancorp has been confirmed as a defendant in legal action filed by liquidators of failed insurer CBL Corporation over a $150 million acquisition.

According to its website, Auckland-based Bancorp “has undertaken M&A roles on behalf of New Zealand’s best-known organisations
